All Floorify rigid vinyl floors have an innovative PU top layer and protective layer (0.4 or 0.55 mm) that is highly resistant to scratches , but not entirely scratch-free. The floor may begin to exhibit scratches from use over time. These scratches will not, however, have a negative impact on the functionality of the floor. The floor will remain water-resistant and the scratch will not discolour. A Floorify floor that exhibits scratches from use has the same ageing effect as traditional parquet.
It is important to take some preventive measures:
PREVENTION
TIP 1: PROVIDE A CLEANING MAT
Prevent the ingress of dirt, water and sand by using an appropriate cleaning mat that is sufficiently large. The mat should not have a rubber back. Lay a mat at every entrance to your home. This will help to prevent damage as well as make it easier to maintain your Floorify floor, and extend its service life.
TIP 2: USE PROTECTIVE CAPS ON FURNITURE
Attach suitable protective caps to the bottom of your furniture. Don’t use cheap caps, but choose high-quality, softer caps. Clean them regularly and replace them if they start to accumulate dirt or wear. Make sure that felt pads do not become wet—if they do, they will start to absorb dirt particles and begin to act like sand paper.
TIP 3: RAISE HEAVY OBJECTS
Never drag heavy objects or furniture over the floor, raise them instead.
TIP 4: FIT SOFT WHEELS TO MOBILE FURNITURE
You must use soft wheels on a hard floor like Floorify. Fit wide, soft wheels to all mobile furniture (check with the supplier, if necessary). Make sure that the wheels are not made of rubber and that they are not so narrow that they exert point loads on the floor. You can also place a (non-rubber) protective mat under chairs and furniture.
TIP 5: USE A SUITABLE MAINTENANCE PRODUCT
Clean your floor with a pH-neutral maintenance product that is suitable for PVC floors, such as our Conny or our intensive cleaner Conny Turbo. An unsuitable product could damage the upper coating, causing the product to lose its protection.
