Our floors are water-resistant, but the surface must always be checked for damp problems. In this case, the surface will need to be made moisture-tight before the floor is installed. Damp under the floor can cause harmful mould or cause the floor to billow.
SOME POINTS FOR ATTENTION WHEN LAYING SCREED OR CONCRETE:
Make sure that freshly poured concrete or screed has sufficient time to dry. The moisture content of the underfloor must never be more than 2.5% CM (cement bonded subfloor) or 0.5% CM (anhydrite surface). If underfloor heating is used, the results should be 1.5% CM (cement bonded subfloor) and 0.3% CM (anhydrite surface). Always go through the heating protocol. Measure, document and keep the results of moisture measurements.
The maximum residual moisture percentage in the subfloor:
Anhydrite | Cement | Wood | |
No underfloor heating (CM) | <0.5% | <2.5% | <14% |
With underfloor heating (CM) | <0.3% | <1.5% | Not applicable |
TIP: Make sure that the room is always well ventilated.
